We recently celebrated Student Support Coordinator Appreciation Week. RES is thankful for Ms. Shanna Plaster. We appreciate her for the valuable contributions she makes daily to RES. Communities in Schools is a wonderful organization, and we are blessed with the best in Ms. Plaster.


Elementary students from Tazewell County Public Schools enjoyed a weekend of celebrating history. On Friday, students toured Monticello. On Saturday, qualifying students participated in the State Level of Virginia 's History Day. On Sunday, students were treated to a tour of the Virginia Capitol. All of these students represented Tazewell County very well! We are so proud of everyone, especially our 7 RES students who attended this weekend. #RESFunLearning





RES SOL Theme Week (April 29-May3).


These awesome RES 4th graders are in Richmond representing our school and Tazewell Co. at the VA State History Competition. We wish them the best of luck! We are SO proud of you! #resfunlearning

Congratulations to Ms. Shonna McGuire. She was recognized as the TCPS Teacher of the Year for Third through Fifth Grades at tonight's board meeting. RES is very thankful for you and very proud of you, Ms. McGuire. 💙


Ms. Deskins' kindergarten students enjoyed their eclipse art today.


We celebrated Ms. Lindsay Buchanan recently as part of National Assistant Principals week. We are grateful for her and for all she does for our school. She does a wonderful job supporting our students and staff. Thank you, Ms. Buchanan!


We want to honor all of our amazing paraprofessionals at RES. Thank you for all of your hard work throughout the school year. You each do a fantastic job in assisting Richlands Elementary School so every child can be safe, learn, grow, and achieve. We appreciate your kindness, compassion, and dedication to our school. Thank you!


Regional History Day was held at Emory and Henry. RES 4th grade students placed in the Group Category. Ella-Rae and Anistyn won first place. Rickie and Cameron placed second. Sierrah, Kynlee, and Sadie placed third. Canaan and Liam placed fourth. The first through third placed groups will move on to the State History Day in Richmond. Congratulations to these students and the other students who participated. Everyone did a phenomenal job. Thank you to Ms. Luttrell, Mr. Wright, and all those who have helped our students in these competitions.






We are so proud of these fourth graders who have worked hard on their History Day projects and will compete tomorrow morning at Emory & Henry.
